Manor PD Update: Drink, Drive, Go to Jail
- August 26th, 2010
The State of Texas has made it illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 grams per deciliter or higher. Despite these laws, nearly 12,000 people nationwide during 2008 were killed in crashes involving drivers (Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles) with BACs of .08 or higher. That would be equal to about 30 jumbo jets crashing each year.
From August 20 to September 6, Manor Police Officers are working overtime to find and arrest drunk drivers. Traffic related stops, citations and arrest will increase over this time as officers take on a more “Zero Tolerance” approach to keep the roads safe for all travelers. ” Our primary focus is helping to make sure travelers, using the roads in Manor are safe when doing so.”
